Aurora Mental Health Center challenges the Aurora Community to take part in Holiday Giving with their Holiday Food and Gift Basket Program
November 12 , 2009, Aurora, CO – The Aurora Mental Health Center challenges individuals, companies and organizations throughout our community, to take part in this years Holiday Food and Gift Basket program.
Aurora Mental Health Center has, since 1997, provided holiday food and gift baskets to families nominated by their case manager, based on their need and the lack of other local support available to them. Last year, through community support, we were able to provide holiday food and gift baskets to 575 families.
This is a particularly difficult year for such families throughout our community. More families are “at risk” this year than ever before, and it’s up to all of us to step up and fill the void that this terrible recession has created in our community. This year we expect up to receive nominations for more than 750 families. To meet this need, we are asking for your help. More over, we are challenging this community to come to the aid of those who have been hurt most by this recession.
If you or someone you know would like to support this vital program by providing a food and gift basket for a family, make a monetary donation, or volunteer to help assemble and distribute these baskets, please contact Tawney Bass at 303-617-2361 or Heather Jackson at 303-617-2313.
