Donations: Child Care Contribution

Support our children's programs and at the same time receive a major tax break.

Success for our clients is often reflected through positive gains in development and stability provided by our childcare and children’s programs.  When you make a cash donation to one of Aurora Mental Health Center's children's programs, you not only provide a child an opportunity to build self-esteem, self-control, and the skills necessary to better cope with future challenges, you'll qualify for a major tax break under Colorado's Child Care Contribution Tax Credit.

Under the tax credit program, you can take the appropriate federal tax deduction for the contribution, plus a 50% state income tax credit.

Here’s an example of what a cash donation actually costs you under the tax credit rules:

Your cash donation
$1,000
Colorado state tax credit
-$500
Reduction in Colorado Income Tax for contribution
-$46
Reduction in Federal Income Tax for contribution*
-$127

(*28 percent tax bracket)

Individual tax benefits may vary. Please consult your personal tax advisor.

  • One Client Said...

"Aurora Mental Health has been a great part of the success that our family has had with the adoption of our 4 1/2 year old.  They helped us to cope with the challenges of integrating our new daughter into our family.  Their help was absolutely vital in helping our family feel like a normal and complete family."

    - Joanie

Intercept Center: A day treatment program for children ages 5 to 21 with a developmental disability and a mental illness. The combination of disorders often makes it much harder for the children to function well in public school. The program provides support for children and their families, and specialized treatment and classroom instruction for children.
  • Metro Children’s Center: A day treatment program for children to attend first through eight grade in a special education setting with very small classes, as well as receive individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Hampden Academy: An approved therapeutic school offering a structured educational and therapeutic program for adolescents ages 13 to 18. The program also offers intensive outpatient services to teens and their families.
  • Early Childhood and Family Center: A comprehensive range of services offered to children birth to age six with emotional or behavioral difficulties and their families. Therapists work closely with parents and caregivers to provide the support essential for early childhood development.
