Homeless Services is a program intended to engage the homeless population in mental health and housing services. This program has three components: street outreach, drop-in and transition care.
Our team utilizes a creative multidisciplinary and community based approach to serving a population typically distrustful of systems. Services include: street outreach, clinical case management, individual therapy, and collaboration with external resources such as wellness court, human services, hospitals, Day Resource Center, and local areas agencies that provide homeless service).
Student Placement Availability and Requirements:
First or second year MSW or Advanced Standing students can apply for Outreach Therapist Intern for the Drop-In or Transition Care team.
Undergraduate students in process for a Bachelors degree in related field can appy for Street Outreach Worker Intern, committed to one outreach shift weekly and attendance at Outreach Staff Meeting. A 6 to 12 month internship is required for this placement.
